Professional Video of Pro Extreme Skiiers and Snowboarders in Powder
Beautiful professional done extreme skiing video of some pro extreme skiing enjoying the crazy deep powder in the backcountry off a mountain peak. They ski down, while seemingly defying physics, ridges that look vertical! They powder is heavenly and is completely untouched. To reach this kind of powder, the extreme skiers had to go up ski this remote backcountry mountain using a helicopter.
The professional extreme skiers jump off series of huge cliffs making it look like a piece of cake. This ski video also has some amazing shots of the skiers shot from the helicopter. There is even a scene of the helicopter while it’s filming the heliskiers.
Also, one of the most famous and circulated photos of extreme skiing as he skis down a vertical wall of snow in m this ski movie’s opening scene. Check it out!

Crazy and Funny Backcountry Skiing Crashes
An amazing video compilation showing some of the most spectacular backcountry skiing crashes ever captured on video. They risk their bodies on some crazy hard alpine terrain here including super steeps and areas full of cliffs.
Here, we see some extreme backcountry skiers doing their thing and failing miserably. They look like puppets after they fall. The worst fall I think is the snowboarder who loses it between some crazy cliffs and falls down what must be 200m of vertical. He falls off multiple cliffs, hits tons of rocks, yet he gets up at the end and raises his hands. Another skier ends up doing one and a half back flips of a cliff! His landing looks really, really painful! Ouch!
Some other falls include skiers getting caught in avalanches, doing some crazy tricks off cliffs and messing up, and just pure bad luck. Lots of face plants and lots of snow eaten!
I couldn’t help by laugh at some of these skiers fall. Some of the skier’s falls are hilarious!

Amazing Videos from Verbier Freeride Extreme 2006 Competition
This is some sick terrain out in the heart of the Swiss Alps, at the Verbier ski resort. There are lots of first person views giving you an idea of what it’s like to ski or snowboard down very steep backcountry slopes, that is 45 to 55 degree steeps. The skiers are really, doing some crazy ski tricks, including inversions, off the cliffs on this 500m vertical descent. There are even some well known pro freeride skiers such as Seb Michaud who does a massive backward loop off a cliff.
This extreme skiing video shows what freeriding and freeskiing is all about!

Extreme Skier Falls off Cliff at Tuckerman Ravine
Up near the top Mount Washington, one of the best extreme, backcountry skiing areas on the East Coast lies Tuckerman Ravine. Famous for the amazing snow and difficult terrain that is relatively easy to get too (depending on the season, only a 1km hike in the spring, longer in the winter). Tuckerman Ravine is also very popular, attracting thousands of visitors on spring weekends. There’s even a t-bar up there that’s operational now.
In this backcountry ski video, we see a skier attempt to go down Lunch Rocks on the Ravine. It doesn’t look like he’s a very good skier and it doesn’t look like he scouted out the decent. He does a couple turns between the cliffs and tries to stop at the top of a cliff, only to fall off the cliff head first. Good lesson here, don’t stop near the edge of a cliff, better yet, he shouldn’t have tried to stop at all!
Remember, always scout out your area and don’t go on terrain that is over your head.

Banff Backcountry Ski and Snowboard Contest – Big Bang 2008
Sweet ski video of the annual Banff Big Bang Backcountry Skiing and Snowboarding Contest out in the scenic, Canadian Rockies. This backcountry skiing video includes BIG air jumps, Step ups, and Cliff Jumping. There is a bit of glade skiing with some grinding on trees, but it is very easy gladed terrain here in Banff compared to what is seen in Vermont.
There are some sick extreme ski jumps in the video including many flips. Some of the skiers and snowboarders going off the cliffs look like they’re about to kill themselves however after coming very close to falling after the first part of the cliff jump. Most of the competitors aren’t pros, just expert and experianced amateurs doing there thing.
These are great contests to enter if you enjoy extreme skiing. Most big mountains known for their backcountry and extreme ski slopes organize annual tournaments like this.

Arne Backstorm Winning Run at FWT Championship
Arne Backstorm, an amazing skier who unfortunately died this week while skiing in the mountains in Peru, won the 2010 Freeskiing World Tour in Revelstoke BC, a world renown backcountry skiing heaven. Here is a ski video of his winning run off a mountain peak in Revelstoke. The winning ski run includes many obstacles and difficulties such as rocks, deep powder, and cliff drops.
The winner is selected by a panel of judges based on ski technique, speed, and difficulty of line. This is an all out awesome backcountry ski run. Backcounty skiing technique doesn’t get more perfect than this!

Awesome Deep Powder Skiing in the Glades
As the title of this video says, the coolest extreme skiing dudes, is a really cool ski video of extreme skiing in the woods. The pro extreme skiers go ski jumping over cliffs in the glades, go down some crazy steeps between cliffs, and do some simple tricks all with great camera work in some really deep powder. These extreme skiers make it look too easy.
On top of the amazing deep powder skiing, there is also some solid telemark skiing.
The scenery is also splendid, would love to go skiing there. Unfortunately, I have no idea where this video is filmed…

Skiing into Corbet’s Couloir at Jaskon Hole. Guy Gets Injured!
Corbet’s Couloir is the most famous and hardest run at Jackson Hole in Wyoming. It is one of the few slopes to have its own wikipedia article! Here are some highlights:
“Currently rated #4 on the top fifty things for skiers to do before they die, it holds an international reputation among expert skiers, and has been described as “America’s scariest ski slope”
“Entrance into the couloir requires dropping off a cornice with a free fall ranging from 10 to 30 feet (9.1 m) depending upon snow conditions, landing on a 60 plus degree slope.”
So it’s pretty hard. In this ski video, we see the guy skiing up to the ski run, past a big “CLOSED” sign. They chill up at the top and watch a guy ski down it nicely. The camera man’s friend then jumps in, doesn’t look too good. We are then informed that he “yard saled” and see him collecting his equipment. Ends up he has an ACL injury, that sucks. Awesome run though!

Compilation of 3 Cliff Drops Over 200 Feet High
Crazy skiers dropping 200+ feet on skis. Check out the 2nd one, he almost hits a huge rock at the bottom, must be inches away from it! The mini avalanches he creates while getting speed for the jump are pretty cool. The highest is 245 feet. I can’t imagine what goes through their minds as they jump…
If you are wondering why they are landing upside down but slightly on their backs after the cliff drops it’s because the force of the landing will probably break their legs.
Here’s the name and height of each crazy high cliff jump:
- Titus Engelborg ski jumps off a 210 foot high clif
- Leo Brayman sk jumps off a 230 foot high cliff
- Jamie Pierre ski jumps off a 245 foot high cliff
