Just as he starts to ski down a 800 foot vertical drop high up in the Chugach Mountains near Valdez Alaska, Garret Bartelt’s ski tip catches the ground and flips him over. There are rocks sticking out everywhere and the path is pretty narrow at times. Garret end up falling the hole way down miraculasely missing most of the rocks in the way, only hitting 5 of them. He survives the accident with only a compound fracture to his leg and some cuts and bruises. That was one amazing fall, not many people can fall like that and survive to tell the story much less with only minor injuries.

WESC or the World Extreme Skiing Championships in Valdez (my home) was one of the best contests of the time. I was on the hill at the time this guy was flipping and falling down the hill. Of course I was lmfao about the video guy just moving out of the way to keep filming. This year they had the King Of The Hill snowboarding Competition down in Valdez, and all I can hope for is that they bring WESC back to life also
